Why This Watch Matters

This black Omega “Admiralty” combines the look of a true tool watch with a funky orange seconds hand.

The Full Story

The dial design of the Omega reference 135.015 is definitely military-inspired, but this model was never issued to any armed forces. It was instead positioned as a light diving watch with a water resistance limited to 30m. It owes its “Admiralty” nickname to the anchor printed on the dial, in a color matching the striking orange seconds hand. It was manufactured in the late 1960s, hence the tritium on its dial; however, it does not yet feature a rotating bezel or an automatic caliber like the later “Admiralty” reference 166.054. This is a fun and attractive vintage diver that looks great on the wrist.

What we Love and What You Should Know

This Omega diver offers a great dial, with nice lumed indexes and a handset characteristic of the late 1960s. Its case has remained sharp, although it shows a scratch on its upper left lug. The crown is signed with the Omega logo, as is the plexi, which shows a light trace near 11 o’clock.
