Why This Watch Matters

If you liked the 1970s, this watch has you covered. The case shape is inimitable, and it features the revolutionary Caliber 11, one of the first automatic chronograph movements.

The Full Story

This Lanco is virtually identical to the Hamilton Fontainebleau we recently offered in the Shop. Aside from the different branding, every part of the watches matches, up to the crown that still bears the Hamilton logo. The case is definitely unusual, but the main attraction of the Fontainebleau comes from its distinctive silvered panda dial. The black date disc and outside track show the attention brought to the design of this futuristic piece, which incorporated one of the most advanced chronograph movement available at the time.

What we Love and What You Should Know

The dial on this Lanco is perfect. Its silver brushing is stunning, and you can't find a single imperfection. The case remains fat and sharp, showing only a few minor scratches, while the engravings on the caseback are as sharp as they were at production. Besides the chip on the plexi near 5 o’clock, there is not much to reproach to this bold Lanco.
